Fish Tacos @ Home!

A few weeks ago, I was CRAVING fish tacos, but didn’t have a clue how to make them.  That same night, we went over to see our community group and our leaders had made fish tacos for dinner for their family! It looked so yummy,  easy, and inexpensive….. I tried it a few nights later & it’s now one of our favorite go-to’s!

Fish Tacos

Tilapia fillets {for 2 of us, I usually get 2 fillets- or 3 if they are small}

Lime Juice

Corn Tortillas

Mozzarella Cheese {shredded}

Avocado {sliced}

Pico de Gallo or Chopped Tomato

Tequila Lime Spice {this stuff is the bomb.com– you can find it at whole foods by the fish market. See the picture below}

Tequila Lime

1. Chop avocado, pico de gallo & tomato first because these tilapia fillets cook fast!

2. Season fillets with Tequila Lime spice

3. On stovetop, place burner on medium heat.  Cook tilapia fillets in lime juice.  Add extra Tequila Lime spice as needed.

4. When fillets are done, they should turn golden and begin to break apart. {Be careful not to burn them! It’s easy to. Make sure your heat is on medium}

5. When cooked, place on a plate to break fillets apart. Place in a warm corn tortilla and add your favorite “fixin’s” …

{Thanks to our neighbors for sharing their ripe tomatoes with us!}

6. Enjoy with your favorite Chips and Salsa! (For a healthier option, rice is also good with this meal} Smile

Hope you love them like we do!

  2. Bethany! I'm so glad you left a comment because it brought me your way and I can't wait to read through all these great ideas you have to share! What a cute blog and I'm so glad to see what you've been up to!

    ps-- fish tacos are one of my favorites too and my dad recently taught me to make them as normal but then roll up the tacos with only the fish & cheese inside (i keep them closed with a toothpick) and bake them at 400 for a few minutes until the cheese melts and the tortilla is just a little golden so it stays in the rolled shape. It makes me like them even better and then I can serve them on a try without them all falling apart. Just a trick I thought I'd share! Now I'm going to search for your tequila seasoning...
